Pray Like Jesus
These 40 days before Easter are a wonderful time to reflect on all Jesus has done for us and lean into a closer relationship with Him. In our Wednesday and weekend services, we will be focusing on the prayers of Jesus. This devotional is designed to help you further grasp the gift of prayer you have been given. We are encouraging you to make it a regular habit to pray every day, and if you already do that, then find a way to deepen your prayers, or pray at different times and in different settings.

This devotional will take you through the purpose of prayer and the who, what, where, when, why and how of prayer. Our hope is that by Easter you will have all sorts of tools, ideas and a deeper faith to feel more comfortable and capable to pray with confidence to God, who loves you so much.

It is our prayer that this devotional, along with the worship services, will ignite your faith in God so you can trust Him and follow Him wherever He leads you; so you can be His hands and feet in a world that is in desperate need of His love, grace and mercy.

Wednesday, February 26 – Ash Wednesday
We have our Ash Wednesday service at 6:15 p.m. tonight.

Ash Wednesday is a powerful way to recognize our need for forgiveness and the life Jesus brings. These 40 days of Lent are often associated to the 40 days Jesus spent in the wilderness—fasting and being tempted by Satan before he started his 3-year ministry that changed the world forever.

As you come forward to receive the ashes on your forehead you will hear the words “Remember you are dust and to dust you shall return.” God made man from the dust of the earth and after death we are again just dust; but with the gift of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross we have a guarantee of eternal life and a new heavenly body. What a wonderful reminder of all he has done for us. We look forward to seeing you at services tonight.

Dear Lord,
Thank you for the gift of your Son and the gift of my salvation. Because of Jesus, sin and death no longer has a hold on me. Lord, be with me through this season and help me to reflect on you, pray every day and grow to know and trust you more. A closer relationship with you is priceless and I desire that with all my heart. Walk with me each and every day and help me keep my focus on you.
In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
