The Giving Tree
Friday, November 13—Noon on Thursday, December 10
The Giving Tree is King of King’s annual toy collection event. Once again, toys will be collected for children in our community as a way for us to share the love of Christ at Christmas. The donations will be given to the Salvation Army for distribution, where parents shop for their children at tables based on age groups and genders.
Gifts can be placed under the lit tree on weekdays during office hours near the office entrance or in the Gathering Space during worship times on Sundays. You can purchase the gifts and place the new unwrapped items under the tree. The age group breakdowns are: Newborn-2, 3-5, 6-7, 8-10 and 10-14. The price breakdown is either less than $15 for small gifts or $16-25 for large gifts. Please click here for a list of suggested toys which was compiled by the Salvation Army. Historically, the Salvation Army has had a lack of toys for ages 0-2 and 10-14. Rather than selecting a tag or ornament this year, you are welcome to purchase any toy for any age group or gender.
We will also collect family gifts again this year! Ideas for family gifts are games, sports balls, and blankets ranging in price from $20 to $25. The family gifts we donated last year were a huge help for an area that is usually not very well stocked.
If you are in need of toys for the children in your family this year, the Salvation Army can help—visit their website for registration details. You may also call the Twin Cities Toy Shop hotline at 651-746-3595.
The Giving Tree Drive-Thru Contactless Drop-Off
Saturday, December 5 11:00 a.m.– 2:00 p.m
Drive through the King of Kings parking lot on December 5, pop your trunk, and our elves will add your unwrapped gift to The Giving Tree! Watch the tree grow with the blessings you offer to the children and families within the Twin Cities that could use the gift of hope and joy this Christmas season. Roll down your windows to hear the Christmas music, take a Christmas photo, and receive a family blessing. Thank you for your generosity and for supporting the Salvation Army’s Toy Shop.
