Music at King of Kings
Music plays an integral role in all the worship services at King of Kings. We offer a variety of music to fit the worship style of anyone who walks through our doors. Hundreds of volunteers bring our music ministry to life each week. Read about each of our music groups and learn how you can get involved.
True North Worship Band
True North leads contemporary worship at the 10:45 a.m. Sunday service. Led by pianist and vocalist Chris Vorrie, the talented musicians in True North bring an inspirational energy to worship performing both contemporary Christian and relevant secular songs. The group has been featured multiple times on the annual Holiday Lights in the Park charity album and performed at the yearly concert as well. We’re always looking for new talent! New Creation Worship Band
New Creation leads contemporary worship at the 5:17 p.m. Saturday evening service. Rommel Carlson has led this group for over 15 years and has a knack for finding the perfect songs across any genre to enhance and inspire worship. New Creation spreads the Word throughout our community by regularly performing at MN Teen Challenge in Minneapolis and the Union Gospel Mission in St. Paul. We’re always looking for new talent! The King’s Choir
Made up of 40 members age 16 to 83, the King’s Choir accompanies the liturgy and hymns, and performs special music approximately twice a month during the traditional worship services on Sunday mornings. Those interested in singing with the King’s Choir should join practice on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:15 p.m. in the Sanctuary.
All The King’s Men
This male choir sings special music approximately twice a month at the traditional worship services on Sunday mornings. The group has performed The Star Spangled Banner for multiple professional sporting events. Those interested in singing with All The King’s Men should join the group during practice on Wednesday evenings from 8:15-9:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary.
The Jammers provide an excellent opportunity for children to share Christ’s love in a fun, energetic and musical way. Led by Sandy Manor, the Jesus Jammers are made up of kids ages 1st grade and up. The group sings approximately once a month at the traditional and contemporary services and rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 5:00-6:00 p.m. during the school year. Cornerstone, King of Kings’ youth worship band, exists to make a joyful noise to the Lord and grow future leaders of worship. The group performs contemporary Christian songs and leads monthly worship for Rev and Fusion as well as other special opportunities. Still learning an instrument? No problem! Musicians and vocalists of all abilities are welcome to come grow their musical talents and faith with us! Never played an instrument before? Have we got a job for you! Cornerstone also needs youth to handle all the tech aspects of worship including: audio, video, and lights. The JuBELLation Ringers
The JuBELLation Ringers are a 2-octave handbell choir made up of about 9-12 ringers. This group participates in worship about once a month and plays a variety of music arrangements. We are looking to expand our group in the hopes of becoming a 3-octave choir and would love to add more ringers to the ensemble. No experience required, just a joy for music in worship! The King’s Heralds Brass Ensemble
Our brass ensemble is made up of brass musicians from our congregation that play brass quartet and quintet arrangements of a variety of styles. This group also leads congregational hymns with the organ at our traditional services and plays about once a month. The brass rehearses on Wednesdays from 6:15-7:00 p.m. and new musicians are always welcome!
