Worship Hospitality Team
The mission of the worship hospitality ministry is to provide a welcoming environment of love, acceptance, comfort, support, care, and unity for visitors, members, guests, and friends in order to enhance their worship experience, encourage fellowship, and help build a church community.
There are five different opportunities to partner with your church home in this ministry: Greeters, Ushers, Welcome Desk, Communion Assistants and Readers.
Below are brief descriptions of each part of the hospitality ministry. We welcome all ages and family groups to be part of this opportunity. For additional information or assistance please contact kathy.becher@
Greeters
The greeters are the first faces people see when entering King of Kings, and they make sure you feel at home the moment you walk through the doors. This team arrives early every week in order to greet everyone with a friendly smile and a warm welcome. Interested in serving? Sign-up to serve today!
Ushers
The ushers hand out service programs before worship, provide seating assistance, distribute offering baskets, guide communion procession and lightly clean the sanctuary following worship. Sign-up here to serve.
Communion Assistants
Aid in the distribution of communion during worship services. Working in pairs, communion assistants offer bread wafers or wine/grape juice with a blessing to worshippers. Sign-up here to serve.
Readers
The reader delivers the weekly scripture and other relevant readings from the pulpit during all services. In doing this they give the Word a new voice to compliment the pastor’s sermon. Readers can sign up to serve by clicking this link.
Welcome Desk
The Welcome Desk provides the first contact with visitors and members providing Gospel Hospitality to all who enter the building. Welcome Desk Volunteers can sign up here.

The King of Kings Prayer Shawl Group knits and crochets shawls for those going through difficult times within our church home and community. At each monthly meeting, members turn in, label and bind the prayer shawls that have been completed during the previous month, discuss the current level of need for different sizes/types of shawls, read thank you notes that they receive, and most importantly, spend time knitting or crocheting on our current shawl projects.
Anyone who likes to knit or crochet shawls is encouraged to join as well as those who would like to learn how – we have many able teachers, instruction books, and materials. There are few more tangible and lasting ways to show someone how much God loves them than with a shawl crafted by prayerful, loving hands as a warm embrace whenever they need it.
For more information on the Prayer Shawl Ministry, contact Leeann Behling.
Prayer Team
Are you someone who knows and believes in the power of prayer, or would like to grow and learn more about prayer? We would love to have you be a part of this team. Our meetings consist of a time of prayer for the people of our congregation, the staff and all aspects of the ministries that occur here, along with prayer for our country, city and the leaders. We will explore different ways to pray and grow in faith together as we see how prayers are answered. The prayer team is also involved in assisting with the Advent & Lent Devotionals, National Day of Prayer and other.
Meeting dates and times will be determined based on team availability. If you would like to be a part of this team, please contact Pastor Amelia or call the church office.
Caring Casseroles
Caring Casseroles is designed to provide a meal(s) to individuals and families in our church and community who are “in need” due to surgeries, illness, new baby, death in the family, and other unforeseen circumstances. If you like to cook or serve and help others, join us. When a need for meals arise, an email comes to you with the dates meals are needed. You have an opportunity to respond and if you can fill that need during that time then you will bring a simple meal to a very appreciative family.
This is such a beautiful and simple way to show the love and care of Christ to those who are in need of a little help and a break from the planning and cooking of a meal.
To learn more about Caring Casseroles and how to become a volunteer cook, please contact Dawn Swenson.
